Good day, I don't seem to be able to select the background items on a unified panel. With the comfort panel engineering I use Alt + Left Click to cycle between the stacked objects on a screen, but this isn't working for a unified panel. 

I assume I'm missing a setting or I would have been able to find a previous question about this.

I can confirm your description (V17 Upd1). I think this function isn't implemented (yet?).
