76MR Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hello everyone, I tried setting up node-red on industrial OS with the mel-setup command. I have the service stick plugged in. When I apply changes the status bar stops at 15% and the setup is completed. The node-red command does not work. Is there any other way to install node red or am I doing something wrong? Best Regards

I know I wrote that installing software should work with the V2.2 service stick and the pre-installed IndOS V2.1, but with your feedback and deeper thoughts I am not sure anymore. Best regards!

I was afraid that the V2.2 is not recognized, but it is. Best regards!

bergmanu Platinum Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 1/15/2026 Posts: 3345 Rating: (382)	Hi, after calling mel-setup did you go to Software -> Choose Node-RED to be installed (marked with I afterwards) -> Select DONE at the bottom of the Software list (not TAB -> OK) -> Apply changes? Can you try to call apt update with the plugged Service Stick before trying to install node-red again? The output would be interesting to see whether the Service Stick is mounted properly. 76MR Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	I figured it out. I reinstalled the OS with the V2.2 image and installed Node-red with the service image in the initial setup. My new problem is that node-red can not be accessed.

Just detected this thanks to some feedback from colleagues / customers. You need to activate the firewall wiht mel-setup and open TCP port 1880. After that you can access node-red. And when I remember correctly you can switch the firewall off again and it still works. Best regards!
