Is it from Siemens or third party key board? Siemens standard key board is MCP483C (not KB) mechanical type & order number is 6FC5203–AF22–0AA2. Yes, key board device is plug & play type only & keys are internally decoded in PLC logic. So please check if it is from Siemens or by third party.

Since you mentioned, machine run normally before replacement of keyboard, I suggest you to check & compare, old & new keyboard article numbers (in case if it is Siemens standard keyboard). If you need help, please post the nameplate snaps of old & new keyboard so that forum member can help you.

UPDATE: We have reordered a new keyboard and installed it. Everything seems to be functioning properly. The issue must have been a faulty repair part.
