#1--What kind of software you use transfer DATA from PC to 810T , it is call "PCIN" ? can you post screen shoot ?

#2--Your topic is X on/ X off ..., I suggest using hardware handshaking, check and making RS 232 cable (Google RS 232 Cable Pinout) there are 25--25 , 9--25 depending on your PC

#3--when you get read (PC SW) and HW cable, we can discuss setting data SD 5010 SD 5011 SD 5016

Hello,

can you please help me with Sinumerik 810t machine. It is CNC lathe connected with PC, that send NC program, written in DOS. Connection is through LPT - RS232 cable, by Xon/Xoff transmission. 

The problem was that we could transfer only one part of program. So far we changed battery, cable, PC. Now we can not transfer any data.

We have second, same machine, that worked good. We wanted to test the cable, and after we put new one, the same problem occurred on second machine. Now we can not transfer program from PC to machine even with the old cable.

Parameters 5011 and 5013 ware 11000101. We tried with 11000100 and 110001110 but with no success.

 #2--using Xon/Xoff is NOT HW handshaking but software handshaking --you can search by Google to clean this topic 

Now your problem, you need provide information as more as possible.

You need to know what is X on and X off  Character in Hex format from the transfer SW in your PC

I will check Siemens 810T X on X off code for you . more questions:

Q#1  you or anyone in your group used to make good transfer from PC to 810T ? if yes what is the last time it was good. and what have been changed?

Q#2 make sure your cable is good, open to check RS232 cable ( is it 3 wires? or 5 wires? or 7 wires?) pinout you can Google it

Q#3 who make the solution --I mean use transfer software under dos in PC to transfer NC program to 810T, can you contact them to help?

updated 11:00 Jan. 6 EST .-- If you are sure the cable is good and no one change setting from PC side. I guess the more possible problem is someone changing 810T setting Data. as you use non Siemens SW in PC so I can only help you from Siemens 810T side, see post 800 system setting data you no need worry about 5013 it is for output. 

please post your 810T screenshot for SETTING DATA 

if you can find X on X off code in PC SW setting , compare them with SD 5014/SD 5015

We dont use PCIN software. The program starts automaticy from DOS, and it is used to write NC

program depending on our parameters and to send it to Sinumerik.

Yes there is hardware hanshaking, machined is set to Xon/Xoff transfer, the cable is 9—25, 9 pins on PC COM1.

Read your answer, it is good you have old manual to show you how to set SETTING DATA

from the manual description , it is very clear you use X on/ X off --software controlled data transfer.

But on PC side it is not Siemens software , I cannot get 100% sure idea what is wrong. 

I will try to help you  to make your transfer working in the old way. If it not work, I will suggest you change your PC and transfer software and cable.

now answer me when you transfer data from PC to 810T --"it not working" you said is there any alarm from 810T ?

Now , 1st thing you make sure your 810T setting data is all the same as the old manual description

--I see your 810T screen it is almost same as the manual saying. for SD 5011 is for transfer speed call --baudrate you should know how to match PC side and 810T side ==they should be the same speed --If all setting data is good , it still not working ---I think the problem is possible your cable. 

Your old cable , you find one wire is dropped off, from your information (pinout #) and picture, I checked document, I also DO NOT know where is that wire should be connected. you need find out yourself (from picture there are more than one pins with soldering , you need find out where it dropped from) ---you also need make sure the cable is  from which port of your PC to 810T  .

is it COM1 on PC? and is there any adaptor between PC port to the cable or adaptor on 810T side----I need know there is no any adaptor---cable direct from PC to 810T
