Here in the sight where I work we use a SIMOTION C240 PN to deal with motion tasks regarding our compactor machine.

I would appreciate your support to interpret the messages delivered by the Syslog tab of the SIMOTION SCOUT V4.4 (the one we use here) highlighted by the red box in the attached picture, in this context the messages are:

File system successfully mounted

Starting Control

Diag Files Created, mode 0

Could you please help me to interpret these system event? We are facing issues here and our production is being affected.

Today, I was reading the documentation and saw that the Syslog file logs the following actions:

1) RAM2ROM.

2) Overall reset.

3) Formatting of the card from SIMOTION SCOUT.

We have not had any RAM2ROM nor the MMC has been formatted (because the machine is working properly and I have performed an online-offline project comparison).

So, I would go for an Overall reset, but here arises another question, if the CPU power supply is OFF and then ON an Overall reset is possible?

The CPU is the IO controller of a Profinet network which contains 12 IO devices, in this context one of the IO devices was continuously sending technological alarms, because of that the diagnostic buffer of the CPU has been overwritten and I could not see any events indicating MRES, STOP state nor Power OFF.

Trying to figure out if the CPU was turned off or if it was in STOP mode I investigate the Syslog tab to see if I could find some piece of information.

According to what we have been discussing, there was no RAM2ROM nor any MMC formatting and the events registered( File system successfully mounted, Starting Control, Diag Files Created, mode 0) in the Syslog indicate that the MMC was correctly detected during the boot up of the SIMOTION.

Unfortunately I cannot perform an overall reset nor turn the machine off to see if the same messages are generated in the Syslog, once the plant is operational.

In this scenario, I am looking forward to conclude if an Overall reset has been performed or if the power supply of the CPU has went off.

In other words, the messages registered in Syslog with respect to File system successfully mounted, Starting Control and Diag Files Created, mode 0 are generated only if there was an overall reset or if a power off could also generate these messages.

I would appreciate your help to solve this puzzle. It is quite important.

Your reply regarding the behaviour of the CPU's Firmware related to power off/on and overall reset is of great value, thank you.

I can now be sure that someone who is not authorized to interact with the equipment did something wrong.

About the problem I described in the previous comment, I wanted to know if the CPU has been intentionally reseted or turned off, because these actions are now leading the IO device to enter in fault mode.
