Is there any clever workaround for keeping set block parameter values and RS retentivity at program download? I manage some stations that has same logic but different parameters and each time I update/download the project I lose these parameters set unique for a station and have to redo these settings again that differs from what is set as default value in the project. Is there any way I could download code only and not parameter values (timer presets, analog threshold for example)?

I also use RS with retentivity to store binary on/off user defined settings selected with arrow keys, those are also lost at download :(

And hours counter too, for that you get a warning but why can't you just skip resetting it which would probably be the most normal action anyone would want here?

Maybe it could just ask "Keep retentivity and block parameter values?" at download, that would be so nice. It seems like softcomfort threats all these volatile values as part of the projects otherwise non volatile code. If that is hard to separate because of historic design reasons, backwards compatibility and so on, maybe softcomfort could just read them before download and send them back after download which would be a quick and easy solution I think without any larger redesign?

Another little annoyance related to this (which also hints parameters are part of the downloaded project at a rather deep level) is that you can't do online simulation/monitoring if any parameters are changed because "project differs", not very nicely handled either :( Here it would be much better if it could just read current values and show them in simulation.

I guess I'm not the first and only one requesting such functionality? I think the LOGO was designed as program/download once and forget device and you are not supposed to "update" projects which holds previous values on it :(

Parameters of function block are part of the program. If parameters are modified, then this is a program change.

The only way to get the actual parameters is to upload the program from LOGO! and then to make the program changes of the "logic".

Retentifity is to not to "save" parameters, retentivity is to not lose parameter changes in case of an power fail.

Workaround:

If parameters are changed, then do an upload first and then modify/change the program.

It it hard to work that way when you have a "master" project which is the same for all controllers (same code/logic). I would then need to keep multiple copies (one for each controller) and do each change separately for each controller, not an efficient workflow :( And even then you still loose the hour counter with each download :(

Yes I know retentivity is for that but I think using a retentivity RS for on/off settings seems to be a well established way to do it. I don't know of many other "better" ways to keep digital values? And I guess none will survive a project download anyway the way LOGO work today as you also describe, which I think is a big weakness of the LOGO :(
