I am a bit confused about how the maximum program load for a plc is determined. I was thinking as long as i have enough memory, on my PLC to store my program, then the PLC would be able to execute my program. And if the problem is too big, then the cycle time will only increase. However, i logged onto my PLC'S webserver and under diagnosis i can see that my "Program load cyclic program OBs" is running on 99%, and the "Trend for program load" is also permanently on 99%. On the other side, my cycle time is only 1.1ms, which looks pretty good to me.

Should I be concerned about the program load? I do not mind if my cycle time goes above 5ms, as long as the PLC can handle the "program load".

And what will influence the program load? Why is my program load running on 99% when my memory is only 11% full and the program is not very large?

Yes I did, thank you. However, it is still unclear to me what exactly the "program load" means. Is it only telling me that all the computational work is executed by OBs which have a priority level below 15?

If this is the case, then I do not know why the workload dropped, after I disabled some FBs in my OB, when the rest of the graphs stayed at 0.
