Geranyl speaking if you only post that picture --it is very hard for people to help you.

I know you switched the motors, but you don't say 'Both of machine have the same alarm "?

I am sure you or your machine operator know how to reference the machine--here I see Z axis ,

you don't say you cannot reference Z axis . I guess you Z axis using Absolute encoder 

Check NCMD 30240= and response my question  

 That was I though MD30240=4 means Z axis using absolutely encoder.

You need reference in special sequence, I will post steps later.

Before start I need you answer my questions:

#1--I asked you, if you both machine have same situation (you switched motors, A machine <--> B machine) ?

#2--Can you Jog Z axis ?

Here is the steps to make Abs encoder axis ref. 

#1--if you have OEM maintenance manual , you need follow them, and this is remote help any action is on your own risk.

#2--Check Z axis MD34200 $MA_ENC_REFP_MODE = 0 (Abs. encoder) make sure is not 3 or 8 or something else. otherwise --STOP! and post here!

#3--the steps--see attach picture

#4--the whole deeper understand , You need download Siemens manual
