Converting ET100 to ET200U for S5-115 (944 processor)

snordin Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	I am currently trying to upgrade our ET100 remote I/O to ET200U in preparation for upgrading to ET200M and finally an S7-400 processor. My current setup is a 944 processor with an IM-308A card talking to ET100 I/O. My goal is a 944 processor with an IM-308C card talking to ET200U (using the same I/O modules, but new IM for each rack) I've looked through numerous manuals on S5 to S7 conversion, and COM-PROFIBUS (the program I'm using to set up the 308C) and nothing tells me exactly what I need to do to get my addressing to remain correct. Does anyone know where I can find some data on how to make this change from ET100 to ET200U and keep the current addressing scheme that I have? Any help would be most appreciated.

It looks like I need to "load" the data from the I/O read into the IM-308C and then "transfer" it to the appropriate inputs and outputs? If so, what FB/PB/OB do I do this in? 2.If I understand correctly, I may be in danger of missing outputs or inputs. Some of my outputs are Qx.0-x.3, yet the COM-PROFIBUS shows these modules as 8DO modules. Will this cause a problem, and if so how do I fix it? 3. Is there a way to address the I/O using the standard I and Q addressing scheme? Again, any help would be most appreiciated.

There you can also see which block you must call. (Using the FB IM308C)

snordin Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Thanks for the information. We are slowly working through the configuration here (it's nice to have super-smart coworkers) but I still have some questions. The addressing looks to be the following: If I want to address an 8DI module currently programmed as i10.0-10.7, I should address this as P010 in the COM-PROFIBUS software. Is this correct? If you have two consecutive modules that use the smae IB or QB (such as two modules splitting QB7 between them, one having q7.0-7.3, the other having q7.4-7.7) how do you address these in COM-PROFIBUS? As far as we can tell, we skip the second module addressing in the COM-PROFIBUS software? It says in several manuals to beware of address overwriting. The stated fix is to use only even addresses. My current setup uses consecutive addresses (ib10, ib11, ib12...). Will this be an issue? Is there a way to correct this without having to remap all of the I/O in the program? Again, thanks for all the help.
