Hi , 

I need to to configure a Profibus connection between a D455  and a unitronics plc using the profibus DP slave module V100-17-PB1. I'm using TIA v15.1.

The problem I have is that I don't have the GSD file. I believe that if I was using Step 7 I could use  the universal module under > PROFIBUS DP>I/O>I/O Manager> Universal module.

Is there anyway to do the same in TIA v15.1? 

essentially I would like to use an universal GSD file since I don't have it ?

Using Profibus-DP universal modules is a way to connect your slave to the Profibus master, if you know exactly the amount and type of data you are planning to exchange between master and slave. If you do not, you must rely on the gsd file to tell you the size of each expected exchange block you can configure. If you simply define, for examble, 16 bytes OUT/16 bytes IN as universal modules, you have no garantee that this structure is acceptable to the slave.

A quick look at the Unitronics website shows no available gd files, not specifically for your V100-17-PB1 PROFIBUS communication module for a Vision350 controller. In ther technical library fr Vision products, they mention the V100-17-PB1 twice, for the same document, with no mention of dowloadable gsdfiles. They mention it is needed but provide no downlad link. Some companies only distribte the gsd file to accompany a newly sold unit.

Yes, I did try on the website and couldn't find the GSD file..
