We are currently running PCS7 V8.2 that has APL multistep operation configured to use two step operation via the @APLCommandExecutionSteps internal WinCC tag. This is a project wide settings that impacts all APL faceplates. Currently is configured such that users do not need to hit the Okay confirmation after selecting a command from an APL faceplate.

A user a request has come in to make a specific process object three step, while leaving the rest of the graphics/objects at the two step operation as defined in the project settings. This is due to this project object being a higher criticality control object requiring an extra layer of confirmation.

Is anyone aware if this can be done? Can I make a specific APL process object two step, or at a minimum make the process graphic/process area its on as three step?

Thank you for the reply. It does appear to be a project wide setting, without any official Siemens approach to modify this value per OCM object. 

In this case the user request is not worth the effort/risk of modifying faceplates with custom code. The user will need to accept the limitation as it stands.
