Hello everyone,

I need to update from PCS7 v8.0 to PCS7 V9.1.

Actually the project is in V8.0 with AdvLib7.1 and working fine, but in this case I need to update everything.

For practical case I load AdvLib8.1 without errors, but when I compile some CFC, I receive  "Could not find AdvLib81".

Hi Cristian,

if you use the Advance Process Library (APL) or Basic Library, you can't update copy the blocks of a library and update all blocks without errors. The reason is that this libraries have channel drivers that generated connections to the I/O modules automatically. So if you copy blocks from a different version of that library then you get an error at the generation of the connections to the I/O modules.

So first you have to install the library (only one version) and then try to compile it again.

I solved my problem in the following way.

1. First of all I unarchived my project which was in version 8.0

2.Then I installed APL Library 8.1 and Basic Library 8.1. Then I went to Simatic manager / Options / Charts / Update block types and did the procedure we know

3.I entered a CFC and at compile time, with the Generate Module Driver option enabled, when the build was successful, I removed the APL Library 8.1 and the Basic Library 8.1 from plant view.

4.Then I installed APL Library 9.0 and Basic Library 9.0. Then I went to Simatic manager / Options / Charts / Update block types and did the procedure we know

5.I entered a CFC and at compile time, with the Generate Module Driver option enabled, when the build was successful, I removed the APL Library 9.0 and the Basic Library 9.0 from plant view.

6. Finally I updated the project using the APL 9.1 and the basic library 9.1. Then I went to Simatic manager / Options / Charts / Update block types and did the procedure we know

7.I entered a CFC and at compile time, with the Generate Module Driver option enabled and everything worked great.

APL V8.1 is not compatible with PCS 7 V8.0 or V9.1. Additionally, I do not understand the use case. Why don't you upgrade completely to PCS 7 V9.1 including APL V9.1?
