We are facing alarm 501. Please find below background

Machine was moved from different location about two years back.

• Last month it has been powered up, found Z axis encoder cable was wrong ie incremental instead of Absolute (Encoder type is 4 for this Machine) - replaced cable
• Replaced PCU with new one as display found damaged
• Loaded start up data using siemens PC card - at the end of loading, attached error appeared, tried to repeat loading, still same error
• Loaded drive data via simocommu - then Drive found in Run mode
• Axes Position seen on screen is incorrect ie in 4 digits instead of 3 digits - in jog ref mode, with feedrate override at 0%, changed  MD34210 from 0 to 1 and pressed +X to reference axes, but it did not happen hence MD34210 did not change to 2
• We could switch ON drive after releasing emergency, found Z moving on its own followed by Error E b 501 on Drive

Hi....

Alarm 501 means "Measuring circuit error, absolute current"

Cause:
1. The smoothed absolute current (P1254, current monitoring time

constant) is greater than 120 % of the permissible power section

current (P1107).

2. For an active rotor position identification, the permissible current

threshold was exceeded.

3. The P gain of the controller (P1120) has been set too high.

Remedy:

–>Motor/controller data not correct

–>For active rotor position identification P1019 (current, rotor position

identification) check and if required reduce

–>Reduce the P gain of current controller (P1120), check the current

controller adaptation (P1180, P1181, P1182)

– >Replace control module

– >Replace the power section

We could fix the issue by swapping connectors at A1,A2 in power section of LT Module
