System auto shutdown after installing WinCC v6.0 sp4

cykee Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	Hi all, My OS auotmatically shutdown after 1~2 hrs operation? It happen after I've installed the WinCC 6.0 sp4. I'm not sure what is the cause, OS or WinCC? My current OS is Windows 2003 server for Small Business Server sp1. Now, it'll shutdown even I did not run the WinCC application. cheers cykee

Did you install the necessary WinCC licenses? Did you install any other software than windows and WinCC on this system? Did you a lot of C-scripting? Well, a lot of questions....[:D] nemo

Did you install any other software than windows and WinCC on this system? [cykee] Yes! I installed lot of software, SIMATIC STEP 7, MicroWin STEP 7, MS Office, Third party OPC-server, Modbus simulator, etc... Did you a lot of C-scripting? [cykee] Not really! Only 3~5 short C-script files.

Nemo Posts: 3149 Rating: (172)	Hi Cykee, the Simatic RackPC itself shouldn´t be the problem, how much RAM does it have and how much free diskspace? Check in the event manager the available RAM and CPU load during WinCC RT. Before installing windows2003server did you perform a "format c"? I could imagine, that you´ve installed software packages, which are not compatible. Did you e.g. install Virusscanners, PC-Anywhere (Vx?), WinCC flexible and WinCC/PCS7 OS? [cykee] What can it tell from the log files? Just attach them here in the forum, we will have a look at them... nemo
