protocol conversion

samkcr Posts: 406 Rating: (3)	Sir, Is it possible to give a gateway/converter for conversion from profibus to IEC 104/61850 ? Is it possible to access data of our system from another system at IEC 104 protocol ? If yes; then at what level? Kindly help me out from this issue

Exactly what do you want to do? Do you have any topology? For example, what's is going to be connected on 61850, IEC104 side? What is this other system? Mike J

Take a look here: https://www.automation.siemens.com/siplus/html_76/produkte/ric/softwarebibliothek.htm Ask them directly about any doubts you have, as I don't have more info about it. If you have too much informations to be sent, maybe it is a good idea to use an extra S7 (also ask in the same link about it) or another gateway, as Sicam PAS. In Sicam PAS, for example, you will have an S7 connection between S7 and computer (using Softnet of CP card), then Sicam can send all information to a IEC104 channel. If you S7 all have other functions as automations and other communications, maybe you should consider this. Mike J
