Hi Hmiemd, Do you have a requirement from customer? Normally, customer want to have all the station times the same. They want it to be the same with the office network or the same with other operation stations. The reason is because when an event happened, the timestamp from OS Client will be captured for them to troubleshoot with the rest of the stations. Hence, a time architecture is required for you to continue. But if you just want to get your system ready with time sync, you have two methods. 1. From PLC to OS Server 2. From OS Server to PLC. From PLC to OS Server, (Simatic Mode Time Sync) 1. Then you have to configure your PLC as a Time Master. If you have CP card to OS Server, you have to configure CP card "From Station to LAN" to push the time to the LAN. 2. Then, OS Server CP card , you need to configure From LAN to Station. 3. Then OS Server time sync, configure as Time Slave. 4. Note: for PLC, normally i will use UTC time and OS Server, it will automatically sum with the local region time. From OS Server to PLC, (Simatic Mode Time Sync) 1. Define one of your OS Server (1A and 1B), configure it in your engineering station , as a time master in wincc explorer. 2. Select the network adapter that you would like to push the time to. 3. Then, at the CP card, set the time From Station to LAN. 4. At the PLC CP card, set the time from LAN to Station. 5. At the CPU, set the time sync as slave. These are the concept for your reference. For more detail, you may look at PCS 7 Engineering Station Manual. Click the link below.
