I've tried the LOGO as the client and now as the server in the attachement Have a look and see what I've missed as I didn't think it would be this challenging. You try to get your value into the LOGO! in three contradictory ways at the same time. Once you declare the Modbus as a holding register (HR), then again as an input register (IR). You seem to be missing any basics. Once you try to transfer a holding register value consisting of 2 consecutive registers via a self-configured connection, but do not query this transferred value in the LOGO! program, but try to access a remote value in the program via an NAI, which you specify there as an input register. In a nutshell: It doesn't fit. Without a precise description of what the Modbus device is, we can't help you. The best thing is to upload a manual for the Modbus device (including the register table) or write which device it is (manufacturer and type designation).

I'm basically copied the example provided on the forum where the OP was talking to a Kinco hmi, My first foray into the Siemens world and appreciate the forum's help. As noted in the device being polled, the DL06 is reading LAN traffic via its ECOM card. It's polling the given address as the NIA of my program. Appreciate the forums' help getting me sorted out! ixo65 The LOGO! since LOGO! 8.1 can by Modbus only Modbus TCP/IP, not Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII.

Provide manuals with the Modbus register tables for the device(s) or links to them. And then write which register (or registers) you want to read out. What can DL06 be? Server or client? How is the DL06 parameterized?

I changed it to register 508 and all is good. r As for the Automation Direct DL06, is another PLC that seems to be popular in North America. (Note: it is Hex based in all of its enumeration) As a system integrator, I often have learn a different system in a hotel room. I have a large number of process machinery ready to convert to the Siemens platform, as thankful for the forums help with my learning, John ixo65 You seem to be assuming everyone knows what a DL06 is.
