xuanngoc1100 Member Joined: 3/9/2022 Last visit: 12/23/2025 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	when i plug out the ethernet jack, the led cpu blinks with red, i have to turn off the power more than 5s, the cpu turns back to normal the cpu i use 1214C 6ES7214-1BG40-0XB0 the main version v4.5.

Stefan Arcularius Platinum Member Joined: 1/21/2013 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 4403 Rating: (653)	Hi xuanngoc1100, if you do not have an installed TIA Portal, which is usually needed to read out the diagnostics puffer, you can also use the SIMATIC Automation Tool. This tool can be used without license for reading the diagnostics data. Of course, you can also download a trial version of TIA Portal (e.g. TIA Portal V17 trial) which can be used for 21 days. Please note: Siemens has to ensure full compliance with national, international and supranational regulations regarding export control and customs (ECC). Therefore, you need an additional registration for downloading export restricted software. Since this may take several days, you'd better use the TIA Portal trial if not already registered. This software comes without export restriction. Kind regards Stefan

If is possible to view the diagnostic buffer on a Siemens HMI. I would recommend you add this feature to the HMI, if possible. It would be of help to you, as you will be able to ask your customer to make a photo of the screen page if you have such problems. See the attachment on where to find the control -- But I should mention that the maximum diagnostic ability is only achieved when you have a PC with TIA Portal connected to the PLC. Shortcut links are provided in the software that can point to the problem area and/or some expanded help information. Use the "online & diagnostic" available in TIA Portal. 0_Einstein Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 1/15/2026 Posts: 16371 Rating: (2522)	In my experience, it usually means the profinet hardware configuration has "monitoring" enabled. That means the PLC checks to make sure the profinet cable is connected and then generates a diagnostics fault entry in the PLC diag buffer and stops the PLC. To prevent the PLC from stopping when the PN cable is unplugged, you can disable the monitoring of the PN connection, or add a Diagnostics Error Interrupt OB (OB82) and handle diagnostics errors within that block of logic for anything that happens that should actually cause the PLC to go into stop mode. In the event the PLC goes to stop mode, there is a hardware configuration setting available for configuring the PLC to start up in run after a power cycle rather than needing Portal or other tool to communicate with the PLC and tell it to switch into run mode. xuanngoc1100 when i plug out the ethernet jack, the led cpu blinks with red, i have to turn off the power more than 5s, the cpu turns back to normal the cpu i use 1214C 6ES7214-1BG40-0XB0 the main version v4.5.
