i met one project about car shop. the client want save data of sinumerik 840d to WinCC. But if it can?

we can archive data of Sinumerirk to WinCC? Can the sinumerik 840d communicate to WinCC?

What do you want? 

SIMATIC WinCC is SCADA & HMI system from Siemens. SCADA systems are designed to monitor & control physical process elements where as HMI system is designed as interface between man & machine to display physical process variables & transfer controls/commands to system. 

840D system does have HMI system & from the system data can be access or transferred via DNC or networking to remote location.

Do you want to transfer & save 840D system data to any other control panel?

Yes, i want 840D system connect to Simatic WinCC, that mean WinCC can monitor 840D system. Then i will use Simatic Information Sever  to archive&Report Data of Sinumerik 840D. 

My goal, i need to save 840D system data to Simatic Information Server.

Thank you Piscean aobut this link. but so  this document only show Sinumerik 840D connect to HMI WinCC flexible and WinCC RT Advance TIA V11. i real need how to Sinumerik 840D can communicate with SIMATIC WINCC  V7.3. Because Actual Site Client have using WINCC V7.3 and Simatic Information server. if can please give me referent Document, how Sinumerik 840D connect with Simatic WinCC V7.3.

Please read this manual which will help you to understand the communication of 840 D HMI system via WinCC. It requires complete details of hardware of complete system. Depending upon the compatibility issue & the present hardware, appropriate tool is selected.

I was searching for some information and saw this post. I know it’s a 6 years old post by I just want to clarify something on this that could maybe help other people.

Yes WinCC can connect to 840D CNC. There is some ways to do so (OPC, BF Connector, UA Gate…), but one way that is not very documented is with an add-on, PS SINUMERIK Channel (FM_NC) Communication driver.  You add that driver into tag management, connect Ethernet cable to X130 on 840D and then you can connect directly to the NC and to the PLC (not thru HMI). You can read tag (Axis position or whatever), read/write to GUD or R parameter, Load, unload program of NC’s and access (read/write) to every M, DB I/O of PLC. Finally you can access everything inside NC and PLC.

For older CNC machine (No X130 connectors) you need to add a CP343 cards in PLC rack.

Once you are connected, you can do whatever WinCC is able to do on those tag (Logging, script, visual management, historian, Information server, reporting, event/calendar, alarms, clouds connector and so on…)
