If you now have an irregularity in the first part of the recording, e.g. 102 once, this is registered by all three counters and falsifies the following two parts of the recording.

By capturing the impulses for only one period, as I have suggested, this irregularity would disappear in the output of the following period. I think this would be a better solution.

However, if the pulses are too few for the desired sampling time, you can only increase the sampling time or use a pulse generator that supplies more pulses for the same acquisition.
