You need to check your X axis external scale scanner head's working condition. 

Meanwhile you can switch on X axis feedback system on motor encoder. To do so, check X axis servo motor has absolute or incremental encoder or check X axis MD30240[0] value, set X axis MD 30200 =1. If X axis motor has absolute encoder, move X axis slide at the position where you want to define reference or home zero position, set MD 34210[0] = 1, on CNC key pad select X axis REF mode & press X axis + or - key, so at that position X axis reference will be activated. If X axis gets referenced on motor encoder it means scale scanner head is defective.

Please note, if your X axis has incremental encoder system you need to change parameters accordingly.

If your machine X axis has mechanical issues or depending upon your X axis positional accuracy requirement or if any safety related issue is involved in X axis, you can take decision whether to run machine on motor encoder, otherwise you need to get your X axis scale & scanner tested.
