I have a very similar query and maybe a few additional questions on top.

We want to read the PLC register's data, for this purpose, we need to be able to provide an IP to the X130 interface, open some ports (say 5000), connect the machine to the shop floor network, and communicate with the machine using KepServer (on 5000). I have the following questions

=> Do we need to buy a license from Seimens for enabling the X130 interface (or any ports on it)?

I have been told that we need to buy some kind of license to enable the X130 interface, is it really the case? I am sharing some photos which mentions about a licence (for accessing MyMachine and OPC UA server), my feeling is that the license is needed for the OPC UA server and not for just accessing the X130 interface but I would be relieved if someone confirms the facts.   

=> Is it illegal to modify the configuration file manually to open any port on the X130 interface?

Again, I have heard this from some service engineers, but I would really appreciate it if someone confirms the same.

To activate the settings Network and OP, follow the sequence:

Menu select ->Start-up -> > -> Network.   Next, make the necessary port settings X130
