Downloading program to Logo! 8.3 PLC

Slartibarfast Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Good Morning, Could anyone explain to me how to download a program to the PLC? We have had a program written and our programmer sent us the program file with a .SNP file extension. We are an end user and do not have the Soft Comfort software. From reading the manual for the Logo! I should be able to load a program into the PLC from an SD card. However when I try this nothing happens. The PLC does not read the program file at start up. Having spoken to my programmer he is of the opinion that you can ONLY download a program made in Soft Comfort via a laptop connected to a Logo PLC, and only then can you copy the program to a SD Card for back up purposes or to load into another Logo. Could someone please clarify as the user manual for the Logo is not clear on this.

ixo65 Grandmaster Joined: 12/18/2014 Last visit: 1/15/2026 Posts: 36458 Rating: (4550)	A LOGO! can only read a program from an SD card if it was saved in a specific format on the SD card. The LOGO! program must be saved as a "binary dump" (file extension .bin). The file then automatically contains the only name that is permissible: LOGO_U_P.bin. Edit: If you want you can send me the SNP file via personal message (PM). Then I send the program as a binary dump file (LOGO_U_P.bin) return via PM.
