Communication with daq970a keysight instrument over TCP/IP

I have tried all the TCP/IP blocks in TIA PORTAL (tcon, tsend,..) but without any success , I want to establish a connection between the instrument and retrieve mesurment data the close the connection , I want to know first if it is possible to communicate with keysight instruments ? and if so how it can be done in TIA PORTAL ? Nadhir.

0_Einstein Diamond Member Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 9/11/2025 Posts: 16093 Rating: (2515)	Perhaps you could post screenshots of the TCON, TSEND, TRCV, and the DBs used to buffer outbound and inbound data between the PLC and the DMM. You can insert multiple images into a single zip file and post the single zip file with your response(s). danw Gold Expert Joined: 3/28/2010 Last visit: 9/9/2025 Posts: 1172 Rating: (220)	I used to work with process DAQ's so I took a look at the spec sheet and users manual for the Keysight 970A DAQ. It is targeted at the test and measurement market, not the process market. I found no mention of raw TCP/IP communications. What I did find was a 400 page programming guide for SCPI, a test & measurement protocol for control and DAQ, link below: https://www.keysight.com/us/en/assets/9018-04756/programming-guides/9018-04756.pdf?success=true The term TCP/IP does not appear in the programming manual. The GPIB interface (another T&M protocol) is available only on the DAQ973A (page 332). I did not see any reference to common process comm protocols, Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP. I could have missed them, but I think you're going to have to use SCPI if you want to talk to the box.
