cannot acces PLC over network

JelleLippens Posts: 26 Rating: (2)	Hi all, Im working with a S7-1200 (CPU 1215C AC/DC/RLY) and a MTP700 Unified comfort panel. TIA V17.0.0.0 The IP adress of the PLC is: 192.168.0.22 The IP adress of the HMI is 192.168.0.23 The two are connected via profinet. If i connect the PLC straight to my laptop, i have acces to everything (PLC and HMI). But when i plug the PLC in our network, i can only acces the HMI, i cant even ping the PLC... Last week i did not have this issue... Any thoughts on this? Attachment issue.zip (691 Downloads)

The ping must work - probably the ping is blocked by a router or firewall. You can disconnect the PLC from the network and then ping it again for test. Not that there is a second participant in the network with the same IP or PN name. Regards, Towome

JelleLippens Posts: 26 Rating: (2)	Hi, Just checked with IT, there are no restrictions, no firewalls/security restrictions. Thing is, i can acces my HMI via the PLC, so if it were a restriction, i would not be able to get acces to the HMI (in my opinion) If i ping the PLC over the network it says "request timed out". If i ping an IP adress that is not assigned, i get "destination host not reachable" Could it be any setting in the PLC itself (TIA setting?) I can do everything local, just not over the network...

qwazee Platinum Member Joined: 3/30/2020 Last visit: 9/12/2025 Posts: 5446 Rating: (1064)	Have a look at the PCs network configuration -- dynamic IP or fixed IP, and which IP (+ subnet) is active. Then the security settings of the PLC is of interest -- especially when having S7-1200 firmware V4.5 or V4.6. Consider reporting all of those to the communication experts. But PING not working.... Analysing the network with Proneta might be helpful. [PRONETA Basic 3.4 SP1 Commissioning and Diagnostics Tool for PROFINET]

JelleLippens Posts: 26 Rating: (2)	Hi, Attached is a screenshot of Proneta I selected my wireless controller, and plugged the PLC in our network. As yall can see, proneta detects te PLC... The question remains: Why i can't ping my PLC and use it wirelessly via TIA portal... Can't go online wireless. Attachment Proneta.PNG (655 Downloads)

qwazee Platinum Member Joined: 3/30/2020 Last visit: 9/12/2025 Posts: 5446 Rating: (1064)	The PLC PC is not in the same subnet as the PC PLC. The HMI is in the same subnet. Quick fix: change the subnet mask of the PLC.
