SFC triggered cyclickly

Testermax Posts: 159 Rating: (3)	Hi! Im very new to PCS7 and just started my first project. Everything goes smoothly but then I came to one problem: I want to run a SFC (sequence) cyclic every, say 5 min. I cant find a proper FB or FC to trigger this event. Any idea what to do, where to find the right info?

I want this SFC to run as often as the operator wants, the operator inputs at which frequency he wants toe SFC to run, from the OS Any ideas?

daga Gold Member Joined: 3/18/2009 Last visit: 12/9/2025 Posts: 306 Rating: (95)	May be there is a better way to achieve what you want, but you can also achieve it as described below In the properties of SFC chart enable the checkbox "cyclic execution" and if required "autostart" In the START step i.e at the beginning of the SFC, set a bit or directly start an on delay timer in a CFC chart Inthe next transition ofthe SFC check whether this time has elapsed (along with probably an operator enable) Reset the timer in the following step so as to prepare the timer for next cycle The time for the above mentioned timer can be used to control the frequency of the cyclic execution of SFC and can be changed using an IO field in the OS. Sydney Gold Member Joined: 1/4/2008 Last visit: 12/22/2025 Posts: 703 Rating: (98)	Hello, it can help little bit, but it isn't exact cyclic triggering, just a delay while starting, the run time of the sequence isn't taken into account... I would suggest another possibility: Don't use the cyclic execution, justAUTO mode. In some CFC make self-triggering timer (for example on-delay timer with inverted output connected on its input) with the setpoint from an operators, in the SFC choose menu "View->External View" which shows the CFC control block of this SFC and there connect the START input with the timer output.
