Safety IO Controller (S7 317F-2) & I-Device (S7 1512SP F-1 PN) Communication

Ansari_Abdullah Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi Community, I have existing S7 317F-2 CPU and need to introduce new PLC S7 1512SP F-1 PN in an existing network. I am confused about communication between these two PLCs. Following are my queries. Will this work for safety-related comms for F_SENDDP/F_RECVDP function blocks Will this work for regular (non-safety related) comms? Are there any compatibility issues with the S7-317F firmware version? If I-device is not suitable, is a PN-PN coupler required? I understand that S7 300 will be phased out soon but I can't replace it for now. Looking for some communication geeks to guide me about the best route to navigate through :). I don't want to take risk of buying new PLC and ending up in a situation where I am unable to develop communication :(.
