Communication to multiple S7-300 PLCs from a ET200SP CPU

We have a project that needs to have a PLC named PLC A , which is an ET200SP CPU, to get/gather data from seven (7) S7-300 PLCs within the OT network. My initial plan is to configure PLC A using GET instructions with sequenced REQ (requests). So there will be 7 instances of GET blocks to be configured in TIA Portal. I'm just wondering if there's a simpler and/or better way to do this other than using GET instruction per PLC? We have an existing WinCC Pro v15.1 project have the tags of these 7 PLCs, is it possible to send them to PLC A? Thanks!

I would be "GETting" around 500 bytes of data from each s7-300 PLC in the same subnet. Is there a limit to the number of GET instances allowed in the program? I read that only 160 bytes of data can be read from a single GET instance from an s7-300 plc in an s7 connection , so I would be needing at least 4 instances of GET instruction per S7 connection. Also, is it ok to use multiple GET requests triggered simultaneously (example per second) on different s7 connections? what I mean is that (PLCA - s7300 plc 1 GET instance) and (PLCA - s7300 plc 2 GET instance) be triggered simultaneously? Thanks!

Duris_I Diamond Expert Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 11/27/2025 Posts: 10970 Rating: (843)	Hello, without to know exactly all stations HW clear HW cfg, is easy and probably clear to say that you can't use S7 protocol here. With use of S7 protocol your all HW cfg need have expected HW components first if you want use PUT/GET. From your init post isn't this clear and therefore isn't expected to have this functionality. On other side, yes, S7 PUT/GET has limitation of amount of data you can exchange and is easy to say that your expectations are outside of reality what you can have available.
