Hello everyone, I am running the project [109762770_OPC_UA_PLCClient_16_PROJ_V1_1] in topic [https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/109762770 ].

I only just download to my PC and run it, not yet configure.

But, I have some problems with connection between OPC UA Client - Server. I attached about problem in my topics. That is 16#8601 & subfunctionStatus: 16#803D_0000. Who also have a problem as me? How to solve it? Thanks for supports.

How do you test?

do you use PLC Sim ? or PLC Sim Advanced? (only in PLC Sim Advanced it works and also only without security in the OPC UA)

Or do you use two real PLCs? if yes which FW and Ordernumber?

Which TIA Portal Version (and Upd)?

I do have the same problem ! i just downloaded the PLCs (Server and client) into PLCSIM Advanced without changing anything in the project ! still having the error 16#8601 when forcing "opcUaConnect" to 1.

Did you find an answer to this problem ! if yes, how did you do it ? Thanks !

do you work without security, its because PLC Sim Advanced can only work without security in OPC UA.

I had the exact same issue, I downloaded the project from Siemens SUP, it includes both OPC UA Server an Client, I used PLCSIM Advanced --> Error.

I debbugged the SCL, trying to figure it out. I recreated the server interface, changed the address, tested the server from different tools, the server was OK, I was able to connect to if from my own S71500 OPC UA client I built using the OPC UA Blocks in LAD, but the one-block-client didn't work. I spent about a week of effort on this. Then today I accidentally opened the SUP page and noticed that there is a V15.1 project available. I downloaded that project, upgraded in TIA Portal, and ta-daa, it works.

Please try it out, and let me know if it woks for you as well.

Hi ! it works !! thanks a lot ! in order to use the project in tia V16 you need to use the project (V15.1), otherwise it won't work in tia v16 !

Hello. I struggled all the same, in both projects. When running 15.1 version updated to TIA17, i found in: DATA_BLOCK "OpcUaClientInterface_Data".Connection.ServerEndpointUrl that Start Value was set to 'opc.tcp://10.11.22.113:4840', which is wrong because server plc has ip-address '10.11.22.112'. After updating mentioned value to correct address, all works.

Ps. Don't forget the correct subnet masks in plcsim advanced... Ds.

For me, the issue was that the V16 project had a Client certificate created by default whereas the V15.1 project is empty by default.

To get PLCSIM Advanced working, I had to manually make sure that the ClientID is set to 0 in order for it to connect (because once the Client certificate is selected, it cannot de-select)
