We have a solution today where we read data via OPC UA from a S7-1200 PLC to a Raspberry Pie. The data is send to InfluxDB Cloud via Telegraf and can then be accessed and displayed in Grafana Cloud.

This works very good. However it would be nice to avoid the extra Raspberry Pie hardware and send the data directly from the S7-1200 to InfluxDB.

However it is unclear if other people actually get it to work. Have made a try and failed to get it working. Would be good to know if others get this to work before spending to much work on it.
Or if there is some other examples or suggestions on getting such solution up and running.

To be honest I've never tried this and I'm not so experienced with InfluxDB but I guess that if your InfluxDB has an REST API then you should be able to reach it using the LHTTP library.
