You can use 840Dsl PLC function ASUP, you need call FB4 PI service then call FC9 

in FC9 you name a NC Sub program, which set position for the axis you want. add a new M fucntion as a trig to FC9 (Search in this fourm how to add a new M function in 840D, answered by myself)

Hi all,

I am using the machine Si 840sl with Gantry. I want add one M-Function in PLC and new position for Gantry. When machine have tool monitor alarm in the machine. after restart Gantry must take the part drop to new position.

How to add the new position for Gantry?

Hello.

You don't unlock it, you simply call it and fill in the necessary data. 

Here is an example.

In DB121.Path you would then have stored the path in the controller to the NC program you cant to execeute.

Example: '/_N_CMA_DIR/'

Then in DB121.Pname you would have the actual program name.

Example: '_N_PLCASUP1_SPF' 

This would then be in the Manufacture Cycles folder and the program called PLCASUP1.SPF

you see " Riddersholm" answered you. FB4 and FC9 are part of Siemens standard PLC program for 840D. they are "Know-How" protected --you need read the manual I suggest you, call them --

you can reference the example he posted here 

some attention:

#1--you need go to OB100 check it calling FB1, the parameter" NCKOM":=1 ? in not set it to "1" and reboot PLC, then try example he giving to you

#2--in that example it trigged FB4 and FC9 by input or Mxx.y you can do the same thing 1st. when your program working good , try to change call FB4 unconditional in OB100, and change trigger for FC9 to M function as you like

If you have difficulty to understand what I said, you need read Siemens manual carefully or call you machine builder to do the job for you.
