You will also need to study the Modbus mapping of the GA700 drive to select the registers you want to read and write to over the network. dear sir, following the document. when i want to use mobus RTU i must have module RS232 such as CPU 340 or CPU 341 right? |

Hello giang trung; I have not worked with a Yaskawa GA700 drive until now, so my information comes from research on the web. The screenshot below comes from a GA700 specifications webpage: it states that a GA700 supports RS-485, 2-wire serial connections. Make sure you confirm this with the datasheet of the actual drive you are working with. Also take the time to understand how yiu can start/stop the drive over the network, change the running speed and collect voltage current, torque... data from the drive. This implies you need a CP341 with RS-422/RS-485 communications, part number 6ES7341-1CH02-0AE0 in order to communicate over Modbus RTU, as a master on this case. Have a look at this FAQ, especially the S7-300 section: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ca/en/view/58386780 A S7-300 CPU does not support Modbus RTU functions natively, whereas a S7-1200 or S7-1500 PLC does. To enable serial communications over Modbus RTU, you need a software package (including a physical dongle that must be inserted in the back of the CP 341): 6ES7870-1AA01-0YA0.
