Multi-user engineering in PCS7

Using this feature, we can have the project source stored on a server and every user can connect to that server, create a copy of the project on his/her local computer (using "refresh"), make changes on the project and test it with PLCSim, and finally transfer those changes to the server in order for other users to be able to see them.(using "check in") As this feature is very necessary and useful while a group of users are working on a single project, is there such a possibility in PCS7 as in TIA portal? See the following: Multi-user engineering It may be somehow different from TIA portal, but in PCS7 there are two possibilities: - Multi-user engineering - Multi-project engineering Multi-user means that the project is located in a ES server (I say server because it's needs a Windows Server operating system with enough processor power and RAM memory), where other ES clients can connect to. It is thus possible to work with several engineers in one project. There are requirements such as that AS/OS compiles are started on the ES server and not on a ES client because its slower because of the network connection between the stations. Multi-project means that an engineer can check out a AS project for example, edit and place back in the multiproject. With all this, you can also enable OS multi-engineering which means that on each ES station, you can edit OS pictures and such (via WinCC Explorer).

I just wanted to add 2 points to it in my own experience: - Engineering server does not needs windows server necessarily, it only means that one PC is needed to store the main project and gives access to other engineering stations. I did it using windows 7 and PCS 7 v9.0. - When you are working with multi-project (better to use it!), Other engineering units can only open projects in the shared folder, it means that multi-project functions are only available in engineering server such as: configuring projects in multi-project, defining AS-Wide interconnections, netpro interconnection between AS and OS, Compiling OS Stations, releasing projects for editing and etc. Take Care.
