Hi everyone,

I followed this tutorial https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/39960679 to connect a PC station to an S7-1200 using OPC.

Everything's fine but when I tried to follow the paragraph 3.6.1, I can't develop "UA Server > OPC.SIMATICNET.S7OPT > opc.tcp://mypc.....". First, it asked me a username and password that i don't know. So, I tried "Anonymous" like said in OPC Scout documentation. Then I have this red message : "BadResourceUnavailable".

Is someone having an idea on what is my problem ?

First of all we need ton know this information:

- Which TIA Portal Version do you use exactly? (with servicepack and Update)

- Which Simatic NET Version do you use ?

- Which Firmware Version has your S71200 PLC?

- Send us a Screenshot of the Screen which appears if you add the connection in OPC Scout

• TIA Portal and Simatic NET are in V14 SP1.

• The PLC firmware is v4.2. It is a CPU 1214C DCDCDC.

I don't understand what screenshot you need. When I lauch OPC Scout V10, the OPC.SimaticNET connection is automatically set. The screenshot in attachment show OPC Scout at start.

you do not need any username or password.

do not do a doubleclick on the connection

-> as we can see in the movie the connection is ok, just expand the connection (click on plus sign) and then you have to search for a folder with the DBs and Items of your PLC you can connect to
