velasse Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	I have an S7 1511C-1PN PLC and a Schneider Altivar 320U07M2C compact model drive, both of which are equipped with a VW3A3616 ModbusTCP module. My goal is to establish direct communication between these devices using an Ethernet cable. Specifically, I want to send data from my PLC to the Schneider Altivar drive using the ModbusTCP protocol. Is that possible ? I would appreciate any assistance on how to achieve this. Could you please provide guidance on the necessary steps? Additionally, if there is any relevant documentation available that could help me with this process, I would greatly appreciate it.

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/21/2026 Posts: 12481 Rating: (2722)	Hello Velasse; The S7-1500 CPUs will use their integrated Profinet interface and embedded indtructions Modbus Client to communicate over Modbus TCP, so that should be no problem, as long as you have access to the Modbus mapping of your server (the Altivar compact drive). Do you have any documents or example links that you can share regarding this? Because I have tried it as shown in this link, but I keep getting the Status 8383 error. I cannot figure out the meaning and the reason for this error."

As I staed, you lso have to understand the Modbus mapping of the registers on the drive side, you the client can reuest to read or write them.
