Hi everyone!! We've got a problem with a PLC and the profibus network when getting online. We have a machine with around 50 profibus devices split in three different masters. those deives are 20% Sick encoders and 80% ABB drives. The machine runs smoothly and everything works fine, the network is good, distances are correct, network speed is good and it has been tested in different ways to make sure that wasn't the problem, terminals are ok and nothing happens while working. I have to mention that the problem started when the PLC was migrated from S7/300 to S7/1500. Our problems comes when someone gets ONLINE with the PG to the PLC, at that time, randomly, the whole Profibus network goes down so the machine as well creating a bunch of problems. we read somewhere that could be a problem coming from a ABB device working on DPV0 mode. This is the link where they talked about it: http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/archive/index.php/t-115250.html Accordding with this we had to change the GSD to a newer one with DPV1, so we did, but still the same. In in the network, there is also two drives with the profibus interface from ABB "RPBA-01" which theoretically works in both modes (DPV0/DPV1). We could't change those devices GSD because the hardware wouldn't work with it. Have anyone had a similar problem? Could that come from the RPBA-01 device? We already contacted ABB but they didn't give us a conclusive answer. Could anything else mess with a profibus network in that way? We have another machines which have been migrated same way and none of them are giving us such a headache. Any help would be great, we dont´t really know awhat else to try. Thanks! |
