Can't get the Operating State of my S7-1516 CPU via SNMP

patrick.rommeluere Regular Member Joined: 10/1/2012 Last visit: 12/19/2025 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	According to the manual "Network management Diagnostics and configuration with SNMP" , the Operating State of a PLC should be readable via SNMP by reading the content of the following OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.4329.6.3.2.1.2.1 (automationOperState) I tried to read it with two different SNMP agents (Ireasoning MIBBrowser and Paessler SNMP Tester) but this gets to a NULL value or an error. The SNMP link itself seems to be OK as I can read a few other OIDs like .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0 (sysUpTime) Is there a special operation to be done to be able to read all the OIDs listed in the manual ?

As automationOperState OID belongs to the pivate AUTOMATION-SYSTEM MIB, it can not be used with an 15XX or 12XX CPU sysUpTime OID belongs to the standardized MIB II, and can thus be used with any type of CPU.
