Hello Rajkiran; Profinet UO follows s IEC 61158 and IEC 61784 standards, but the infromation we can find on Siemens industry Mall and other sites does not refer to IEC 61784-1-2, but to IEC 61784-5-3, as described in the Profinet IO Conformance Class manual (see the attached screenshot): Siemens confirms this in the forllowing manual, among others: SIMATIC NET Industrial Ethernet / PROFINET Passive network components, System manual: Standards The EN 50173 standard series describes the structured cabling of office buildings. ISO/IEC 11801-3 describes the structured building networking of an industrial building. The generally valid description of networking an automated plant within an industrial building can be found in IEC 61918. The profile-specific networking rules for PROFINET can be found in IEC 61784-5-3. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ca/en/view/84922825 Where did you find a mention of IEC 61784-1-2, in reference to Profinet cabling? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello Rajkiran; As mentionned in my earlier reply, Profinet cables designed as per IEC 61784-5-3 will follow all requirements for structured cabling. This describes the way IT cables are installed inside buildings, not the construction details of the cable itself. All manufacturers of certified Profinet cable, such as Siemens, LAPP, Belden, and ohers will integrate the details of IEC 61784-5-3 in their offerings. Here is an example from LAPP: The screenshot below shows an extract of the folloing document, describng the principles of structured cabling, and providing you with differnt Profinet cable part numbers, all CAT6A (4 x 2wire, 1000MB/s) , depending on your application. Often, standard Profinet cable will be used for fixed installations, the other variants are for applications that require motion or flexible installations. - SIMATIC NET: Industrial Ethernet / PROFINET Passive network components https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ca/en/view/84922825 If you care to study Profinet cabling further, you could start with this document from profibus International: https://us.profinet.com/profinet-cables-requirements-specifications-and-types/ Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
