We have Sinamics G120 CU240-2 PN with IOP attached.
We want to disable hand mode on the IO, so that no one can ever start the motor directly from the IOP.
The motor may only be started remotely by the plc which is on the profinet connection.
I know you can lock the whole IOP by pressing two buttons on the IOP for three seconds.
And you can unlock the IOP with the same procedure.
But this is not what we want. We want the hand mode to be permanently disabled, enabling may not be possible or at least with password. The other functions (reading faults, parameters, etc.) should still be possible.
Is there a way to accomplish this, or what are the possibilities?

Well I've never tried it and don't have G120 at hand but looking at the list manual it seems there might be two ways to do it.

First one is p0806 = 1 as it inhibits master control, but you'd have to check if it inhibits BOP/IOP or only PC drive control panel.

Another way would be to check parameters p8542, p8543. Setting for example ON/OFF1 signal source for manual mode (p8542.0) permanently to 0 could solve your problem - of course it won't be pass protected.

 P0806 seems a useful solution, but for the moment I have no IOP available to test.

P8542, p8543 are not visible in the parameter list of the CU240-2 PN.
