(319F) Now, it is very fashionable to read data from plc within the scope of IOT projects. Many people make remote queries to PLCs with C# or python projects. However, lately we can't even be online to some plc's. In this context, I would ask a few questions. 1. Do PLCs have a capacity for such remote queries? 2. How can we learn this? 3. What is the healthiest way to get such data from a PLC without tiring it? 4. Wouldn't it be dangerous to do such operations without using OPC? 5. I want to do this job properly. Can you suggest me a source on this? 6. What training should I receive at Siemens SITRAIN? THANKS A LOT

Hi,

in general does any CPU have limited communication ressources / a limited number of possible connection.
The amount can differ from model to model, but also from firmware to firmware. Furthermore there are dependencies to which service for the connection is used.
