Any updates on this? I am experiencing a very similar issue with a CP340 dropping communication at unpredictable times. I need a way to either prevent this or recover from this without restarting the PLC. I'm also pretty new to Siemens controllers but I've been able to find the the diagnostics buffer for the CP340 in the hardware config of Simatic Manager but it doesn't seem to give me any information about its serial communication, just that the module is OK and that the PLC is in RUN.

 this looks to not correct code handling due maybe specific HW cfg. Without to see that HW CP cfg and code snippets with blocks and parameters, maybe also what CP really does (what data are excahnge with what partner and role of CP) is simply not possible to give some help.
