SFC 5 on a CP443-5

Beavis Posts: 53 Rating: (7)	Hi I am using SFC5 to find out profibus slave addresses. SFC works like a charm when I query data of slaves connected to DP masters on the CPU (CPU414-3 V5.2.1). When I query data of slaves connected to a profibus master system handled by a CP443-5, I always get error 0x8096 (Illegal value for the SLOT parameter) no matter what i set in the SLOT parameter. Any Idea? Why SFC5 does not work correctly on a CP443-5? Regards

The same slave, if moved to a profibus master wired to the main cpu (on connector X1, X1 oer IF 964) works correctly and I can read its addresses with SFC5. My slaves has just 2 modules (1 and 2) so I have not many choices. The strange thing is that SFC50 works on that slave (I can read all logical addresses given the initial LADDR). Unfortunately SFC5 cannot return the initial LADDR on ANY SLAVE connected to my CP443-5 are there some restrictions??

jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, may be the SUBNETID parameter is not OK? SubnetID = DP master ID of the corresponding distributed I/O system if the slot is in a distributed I/O device.

Beavis Posts: 53 Rating: (7)	Hi! Subnet ID is ok (I use the DP master system ID from HW config). The slave I am pointing with SFC 5 is also ok (I/Os work correctly). Monday I will try to query for the SLOT ID of the selected address using SFC 49...

Beavis Posts: 53 Rating: (7)	I GOT IT!!!!! ..... it was NOT a problem of the CP443-5 itself but to the fact that the CP443-5 I used is version "CP443-5 DX02" (quite old, now CP443 is at release DX03).... .... AND VERSION DX02 DOES NOT NOT SUPPORT DPV1.... AND A SLAVE ON A "S7COMPATIBLE MASTER" HAS THE DIAGNOSTIC ADDRESS AT SLOT 0 AND THE I/O SLOTS STARTING FROM "4" and not from the slot number shown in the hardware configuration!!!! From the manual ("configuring hardware and communication connections" edition 03/2006) "Previously the first I/O module of the DP Slave was assigned to slot 4. However, the first I/O module is now assigned to slot (as you can see in the hardware configuration). " Thanks for your support anyway!!
