Create a DB

Create two word variables in the db and compile the dp
then in a codeblock use the move

 If this has already been done, (I can see the data in P#DB100.DBX12.0 because of a second copy instruction shown below) how can I work backwards and find where the original copy occurs? I'm using Step 7 V5.7 SP1.

 You can cross reference DB100. If there's a inderect addressing or a pointer used in the data transfer, then cross reference doesn't find it. Then you just need to go through all program blocks and see where it might be used.

If DB100 is a instance datablock, then it's easy to find, the FB where the DB is called at.

Thanks for your suggestions. I've looked through all the FBs and FCs, trying to find a destructive reference for DB100, and didn't find anything. (No other reference actually). 

It seems like the place DB100 gets populated should be in the Hardware Config, or part of the Profibus configuration. Are you sure that when set up a Profibus network you don't assign any DB for the drive's data to be stored in?

 The DB's for drives are not in the HW config or the Profibus config, they are in the program. Show us a screenshot of the FB used to control a VFD.
