Sinamics V90 PN Reading Fault Code

edward_hoare49 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi All, Currently I'm trying to receive fault codes from a V90 PN drive with an S7-1500 PLC. The system had been set up previously by a colleague using Telegram 105, reading through the manual I notice Telegram 111 appears to be the only Telegram which outputs fault codes, however from what I understand, I'd need to switch to EPOS mode on the V90, and wouldn't be able to use technology objects (TO), which are already integrated into the program. Is there any way to read fault codes to the PLC whilst still operating TO's, or must I go the EPOS route to retrieve them? Edit I have been investigating telegram extensions, but TIA (V16) does not seem to allow me to add an extension to Telegram 105. Thank you for your help.

0_Einstein Grandmaster Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 16379 Rating: (2522)	Some drives allow having multiple telegrams configured, for the Control Unit, for the Infeed, for the drive (or power unit), for the encoder, for other devices integrated into the "VFD system". If your Telegram 105 is for motor control, perhaps the Control Unit has a telegram where you can read things like the CU temperature, and warning/fault codes from the motor drive portion? Are you allowed to add a "free telegram" and pick and choose parameters? I apologize for not knowing more about V90's. Will the acyclic communications run in addition to the cyclic (Telegram 105)? This was something I was trying to get to grips with. Thank you again.

It is carried out, when the parameter request has ben initiated and the PLC as well the drive has accordingly time left.
