Dear All We have recently setup an S7-1500R system on site and found that only those Profinet IO Station reside within the same panel as the PLC can be detected in both TIA Portal as well as by the PLC where Profinet IO in other panel cannot be detected. Previous while testing in the factory the S7-1500R PLC can detect all the Profinet IO station when they are linked to the same network. when we setup the actual system in the plant then it does not work anymore. the difference between the setup at the factory and at the plant is that in the factory all Profinet IO Station is linked to unmanaged switches while in plant, Profinet IO that is not in the same panel as the PLC is linked to intermediate distribution frame (IDF). We are not sure if Network Firewall is installed in the IDF and is blocking the Profinet traffic of the PLC from reaching those remote Profinet IO. i have attached the network architecture for better understanding. we have tried to do some study and found the post below provided some info on what software port should be enable on the Network Firewall to ensure the traffic is working. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/8970169 we will try to have the plant IT personnel to enable these ports as below and see if it works. SIMATIC S7: TCP port 102 while waiting for the changes to be approve at plant, may i ask if anyone have similar experience and could advise some other direction that we should try? thank you very much.
