Searching on this topic I retrieved the sample library from the link you attached. However, it is asking me a password to compile. Do you know if I need to buy this library from siemens? Or is the password provided on another site?

S7 PLCs do not support Ethernet/IP natively, they are designed to work with Profibus and Profinet basically. But recent additions of specialized libraries allow other protocols such as Ehernet/IP to be run on S7-1500 PLCs, using the ntegrated Profinet port of the CPU, for example.

This document gives you access to the LCCF_EnetScanner library (and sample code) that allows the S7-1500 to act as an Ethernet/IP scanner:

You quote Tsuo describing his issue in the original thread, have you tried the upgrade solution that he later said fixed his problem?

Did any of the other replies in that thread help? If not, please describe in detail the system you are working with, model of CPU, firmware version, TOA Portal version, etc...and the exact problem you are facing, if possible with screenshots of yhe error messages you receive.

Without adequate information it is difficult to help you.

I'd assume we are talking of a Siemens developed code which is suppose to be used as a 'black box' solution. He guess he could contact Siemens via the "Support Request" web link.

In general, Siemens libraries come with documentation.  In the Appendix of the documentation you can sometimes find a link for additional support.  If no link is provided, then your best solution is to contact Siemens Support (using the Support Request from the menu bar above these online forums).

If there is a newer Portal version available for a Siemens library, you may find it using the additional resources links provided in the Appendix.

I had the same problem, the need for a password seems to be related to the CPU firmware, in my case it only worked when I changed my 1215C DC/DC/DC cpu from version 4.1 to 4.5 which already comes with secure Open User Communication. 

After changing the version, it was necessary to delete and import the library again.
