Hi guys As i am new to PLC stuff and have very basic/beginner knowlodge knowledge for programming, And near to non for comunications/network buses etc.

The main PLC on which this will be done on is S7-1500 

Note:" When i say Raspberry Pi i mean a whole embedded system which has relays power sup[plies radio transmiter and reciever, internal functioning etc and is running a whole rig. 

The Rpi is mimicing what the microcontroller will be doing.

Later on the Pi will be replaced with actual system" 

the project goal is that the Rpi will be sending data out through an ethernet cable ( i do not have that yet,  but assuming its a string or array of data. PLC will read and pick out usefull information to monitor lets say power supply voltage, relay status etc (monitor stuff through the PLC).

I know we can have micro controller send a specific string/arrays of data and duplicate those in the PLC.

I checked online and came accross MQTT which uses publisher and client and that seems a bit to irrelevant as the PLC and Raspberry Pi will be close to each other (barely 1 meter apart)

Is there an easy way to do this, which protocol to use etc. what to do.

Can someone help me in this regard or tell me where to start from.

any piece of code would be helpful.

Edited: ( i was thinking of trying it first on S7-1200 as i have a spare one availabe to play with but judging from the comment below i think i should stick with S7-1500)

It's importante to know the PLC you are going to use, it is not the same a S7-1200, s7-1500, s7-300...

Perhaps you can use OPC UA communication, Modbus TCP, TCP, UDP...

you can use definitelly OUC via TCP protocol.

i wont be dealing with the raspberry pie and its coding.Thankfully, just need a string of data that i can make plc read.

heh but how you then want have data on S7-1200? Ok, it's up to you but really your Raspberry need be Client probably and do all initiation with data to S7. If you have other solution then no problem. Glad you have my sugestions as helpful.

 Sorry what i meant by that was, As i am new to this coding etc and am trying to learn. my main goal would be to just focus on the PLC logics. All i would need is the string/arrays or the type of data that i will recieve ( which itself wont be easy dealing with) i Just wont have to all the learning on Raspberry pi. I am more of an mechanical type person and i have been handed this , which is not relevant to my field or job nature.
