Collett Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi. I have spent 7 days (on and off) trying to install TIA Portal V11. Have tried SP1, SP2 andupdate 5.I have installed from DVD, from local HD and from usb HD. Always the install reports a problem but no details. I have tried the S7Dos fix. The program runs but crashes with the usual unhelpful message. I have raised a support request, germany have been involved. They have stated that it cannot be installed on a domain based machine and yet we have a new domain based machine that it is ok on. I have successfully installed on a virtual XP machine and it runs fine but cannot connect to a KP900. I have used it on an old XP machine for 3 days before the message popped up. Given the price we pay for the software we should send them a bill. Very frustrated.

Mike.Mc Posts: 46 Rating: (8)	I have wrestled with that for 3 years. It never goes away. My solution is to create a new project and copy, (drag and drop), your CPUs and HMIs into the new project. Sometimes they do not drag over. I suspect those devices are the ones with the problems. Then create a new device, (always a CPU), and copy OBs, DBs, tags etc. into the new device. That cleans it up and TIA Portal works great until it happens again...

The error message is "Siemens.Automation.Portal has stopped working" I have tried deleting the s7DOS folder, restarting the Notebook etc. I have tried opening old programs. I cannot create a new project because the portal does not open enough to allow this. All I get is the TIA portal window and then a windows error message. I have not yet tried reloading the software but will that help anyway? The program did open once when I ignored the error message by not clicking on it, but then crashed shortly after with a new error message: "Siemens.Automation.ObjectFrame.FileStorage. Server has stopped working" I have windows 7 and it is a 64 bit CPU. Anyone have any idea what I can do or what it might be? Unable to get on with the urgent job I need to finish. Thanks.

Have you tried to repair the installation via windows->control panel? Have you tried uninstall, re-install? safe_acid Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I have a similar issue with VMware Fusion on my Mac mini M2. The solution for me is to install the original TIA 17 portal and then upgrade it to version 6.
