can you ping the address 169.254.32.80 from the node red machine?

and what is the ip of the machine running nodered?

FYI, I'm using Windows computer. I am running the whole simulation using the PLCSIM, therefore it was connected to a local network called 'Siemens PLCSIM Virtual Ethernet Adapter'.

Based on your suggestions,
I changed the IP address of the local network to '192.168.10.1' and the plc to '192.168.10.2'

I'm connecting to Node-Red using the host of 'http://192.168.10.1:1880/'

But turns out I still have the same error.

Hi Marcus,

The described configuration looks ok to me.

But maybe a hint that might help. The setting to allow PUT/GET is a hardware related parameter. Therefore, you need to download the hardware configuration after changing this setting. Since this has to be done explicitly, it might be the cause of your problem.

 Hi Stefan, thanks a lot for reviewing my problem!

I'm doing the simulation all over my laptop. The S7-1200 that I connected was using the PLCSIM software.

I just awared that the PUT/GET was a hardware parameter, but as of now, I had not connected the Node-Red with the S7-1200 machine. I'm not sure whether I misunderstood 'download the hardware configuration' to perform some settings on the S7-1200. If can, could you explain more about it? Thanks a lot!

As described in the manual, there are three ways to reload the hardware after it has been loaded for the first time. I prefer to load it from the project tree. There you can use the context menu of your PLC.
