To create an S7 fault tolerance connection with 400H controllers, the firmware version of the card must be at least 8. Now we have 07.21. How can we upgrade firmware? This one is part of the SIMATIC NET PC software. I think you want to use fault tolerant S7-commmunication via ISO-on-TCP. The module CP 1613 does not support this. Only fault tolerant S7-commmunication via ISO can be used here. Please use the CP 1623. This module supports fault tolerant S7-commmunication via ISO and ISO-on-TCP. Fault tolerant S7-commmunication via ISO-on-TCP with CP 1623 is released with SIMATIC NET PC-Software V8.1 SP2 or newer.

Unfortunately i can't use fault tolerant communication via ISO because there aren't separate CP on my PLC configuration (I'm using embedded Ethernet port and there isn't ISO option in it). When I'm trying configured CP 1613 with fw v8.1 programm was allowed create TCP fault tolerance connection, that's why I think that update fw can fix my problem. So, if I'm understand situation right I should install CP with ISO support on my PLC or trying CP1623, am I right?

Fault tolerant S7 communication via ISO was supported by PLC CPs and CP 1613 since last millenium. ;) Of course you can't configure a higher CP version than installed one. Please check the version of the installed SIMATIC NET PC-Software and configure the appropriate version. STEP 7 has the fault that TCP/IP options is available in the settings of the fault tolerant S7 connection if CP 1613 or CP 1623 with version 8.1.1 or higher is configured. But the CP 1613 module doesn't support it. Please deactivate the mark. The addresses are switched to MAC addresses if all modules (also the PLC CPs) have a unique MAC address configured. Otherwise you should get in touch with SIMATIC Support and create a SR.
